(One page, front and back) on tan laid paper of ladies in medieval dress, ca. 1870. Pencil-signed in the lower left-hand corner of one side. This sheet has been removed from a sketch book and the hinge remains on one long edge; the paper is toned and foxed overall. There are some pin holes and a 1" tear into the image field on a short edge with old tape. The mount covers a large portion of a signature on one side in the lower bottom center. Sheet measures 11 7/8" x 9 1/2."
This piece is ca. 1945. Signed "MS." Cloth patch has been affixed in the center of the piece and painted on by the artist. Light tears and creasing on the sides. Measures 25 1/2" x 19 5/8."
