Sketch on Crested Paper. This sketch accompanies a letter from J. Dickinson Logan to William Wister of 407 Walnut Street Philadelphia, written 25 February 1867. The letterhead also bears the same crest with 'L' and location 'Summerville' at the top. Also from the same Wister Collection, a letter from C. O. Pittsburgh: Printed by Johnston & Stockton, 1832. Full mottled original calf binding, bumped and rubbed corners with chipping at the top of the spine; interior toned overall. 297 pages, 7 1/4" tall.
Signed in Plate; paper has separated along the plate impression mark along the bottom edge and partly up each side. The separation has been stabilized with archival filmoplast repair tape. The etching is toned with an acid burn mark at the center. Measures 3 3/4" x 5 3/4."
Initialed in plate in the lower left-hand corner, and numbered '23' in plate in the lower right-hand corner. Lightly foxed and toned. Matting is 14 3/4" x 18," sheet is 11 3/8" x 17 3/8," plate mark is 4 3/4" x 7 3/4."
