| Prof. Dr. C. E. Bock. Contains 38 color plates. New York: William Wood & Company, 1881. Bound in original burgundy pebbled cloth with blind tooling on front and back covers. Gilt lettering on front and spine. The edges are worn, particularly at the extremities with some fraying at the top and bottom of the spine. Internally there is some light toning on Plates III through Plate IX then Plate XI through Plate XXVII at the water stain at the lower right corner extending just into the plate mark as illustrated on Plate XI. All plates were hand-colored and Plate XIV shows some stains possibly from colorist at right edge affecting image. The engraved plates are by Krause & Eltzner of Leipzig and are quite incredible. The book measures 15 3/8" x 11 1/4." | |||||||||
