| Chinese ornately carved red-lacquered high-backed chair with a pair of dragons on the top rail is from the 19th century. The rectangular back has intricately carved reticulated panels, and two carved side panels for the armrests. There is a dragon on each end of the top rail, with a temple in the center with carp on both side and a border of waves. The central back panel has a carving of a palace scene with maidens; each smaller panel is either with male or female figures engaged in various activities. The arm rests have large carved panels of landscape scenes with maidens. A finely carved apron with a foliage motif and the legs has a carved floral motif. The cushion is in a Chinese style blue brocade fabric with trees and pagoda style buildings and boats, the seat is partially covered with the same fabric and the other half is covered in an older fabric.
