This Imari sometsuke bowl shows symbolic Mt. Fuji on one side and a peaceful mountain and ocean scene on the other side. Another design the interior of the bowl depicts is the precise floral motif in the zigzag abstract design.The exterior of the bowl shows ocean wave and butterfly. The each mukozuke is hand-painted in rich colors and designs. The flower on the design is camelia and the 'mikomi' bottom mark indicates a higly stylized pine, bamboo, and plum, which are all auspicious symbols.
