This Japanese kimono tansu is approximately from the mid 1900s. The tansu is made from kiri wood (paulowina) and it separates to two sections. The top part has 6 trays inside and they slide out.

The chest has a small storage area covered by a pair of sliding doors on the left-top, one vertical umbrella storage, and a shoe storage section divided by four small shelves inside. This Japanese nagahibachi (Tokyo style) is approximately from the early 1900s. The hibachi is lined with copper and has three drawers on the side and two drawers at the bottom. A "removable" tray is placed on the top. The wood is beautifully lacuqered.
