A fine Japanese Meiji box probably made by sword makers in the late 19th century. The intricate work of copper,silver gold and other mixed metals is inlaid or worked into iron. The top with a farmer. detailed with a hoe over his shoulder, a pipe in his hand, and a stripped jacket standing by a tree worked in with gold and with a boarder of intricate morning glories, lilies, leaves. Very fine Japanese cloisonne enamel cabinet vase, just under 5" tall. Beautiful sculptured silver wires outline the colorful lavender poppies with very fine detailed wires and the beautiful leaves in various shades of green. A red flower adds a nice contrast. Superb walking stick or cane with hand carved ivory dog's head. There is a decorative gilt metal piece between the head and the stick which I think is sterling as there is a tip on the bottom that is marked sterling and it is gilt also but the piece at the top is not marked. This cane is in excellent condition. I believe the dogs head is marine ivory or walrus tusk. This dog is really life like and well carved.
