19th century Chinese porcelain snuff bottle with biscuit type finish with 18 wise men depicted, hand painted. Chien Lung mark on base. Old ivory top and ivory spoon. Measures 3 1/4" high, 2 1/4" wide and about 1 1/2" deep. This bottle came out of a local estate of a knowledgeable collector where the bottle resided for decades.The collector belonged to the Antique Appraisers Association of America and was discriminating in his taste. Gorgeous Japanese porcelain tea cup/saucer with fine decoration painted by hand in the late 19th century in the Arita/Imari area of Japan. This is the finest quality of this type of work and is very collectible and rare. The cup opening measures 3 1/2" and is 2" high. The saucer measures 5" in diameter. Featuring a very lovely and unique little sterling bowl mounted with a beautiful jade ring boarder. Made in China for the fine Japanese store, Yamanaka. Stamped Made in China Yamanka. An early and fine cloisonne napkin ring made by one of the best makers of Japanese cloisonne in the late 19th century, Namikawa Yasuyuki. Measuring 7/8" wide and 1 3/4" in diameter. With 3 butterflies, flowers and scrolls on a slightly speckled tan background and a typical arrow like boarder. These napkin rings are pictured in the photo from 1902 by C.H. Featuring a fine Japanese pipe with silver mounts on either end and bamboo in the middle. The mouth piece appears to be copper or mixed metal and below that there is great work with a dragon in clouds and inlaid mixed metal eyes. The bamboo piece has painted designs in black to look like clouds. Not sure of the technique in painting this, maybe ink. The pipe piece also has a design tooled into it, probably relating to the dragon motif. There is a hallmark on both metal pieces(see photo of one). ...click for details
