Featuring a dramatic blue and white Japanese Hirado studio porcelain plate with a dragon and a mythological 4 footed supernatural beast with horns, hooves and a tail, possible an unusual form of a Kirin. Featuring a dramatic and wonderful Japanese studio Hirado porcelain plate with a mythological 4 footed beast with a dragon face, possibly an unusual form of a kirin, and a long coiled dragon, both facing each other and ready to attack. Dating to the last half of the 19th century. Measures 9 3/4" in diameter. Very good condition with no chips, cracks, restorations. There is some surface wear with light scratches. Gorgeous Japanese porcelain tea cup/saucer with fine decoration painted by hand in the late 19th century in the Arita/Imari area of Japan. This is the finest quality of this type of work and is very collectible and rare. The cup opening measures 3 1/2" and is 2" high. The saucer measures 5" in diameter. Fine Japanese studio porcelain 3 legged koro with pierced pink chrysanthemum cover. Design carries over to base with artistically drawn leaves. Signed Kato Kanzan on the reverse of the lid. Measures approximately 4" in diameter and 3" plus in height. In excellent condition. No chips, cracks, repairs or damages. Circa 1900.From a local estate of a knowledgeable collector that belonged to the Appraisers Association of America.

Featuring a wonderful Japanese porcelain plate made by Fukagawa in the late 19th century. The scalloped 6 1/4" plate with the 24 petaled kikumon design is fairly rare. At least six different patterns alternate in blue, orange, white and much gold. 2 blue rims surround the foot rim on the underside and the Fukagawas signature mark, a blue underglaze Mt.
