Featuring a fine 18th century Japanese shishi netsuke with peony. Carved out of so called Umamitsu, which I was told is sea pine or black coral. Perhaps it is amber, as when held up to light, there is a sort of translucent amber color that comes through. Very fine work. Measures just under 1.5" long x 1" deep x 1" high. An attractive Chinese Pewter Tea Pot, of melon ribbed form, with decorative sprays of branches and leaves set with several cabochon stones of agate, jade, amethyst, and a yellow stone. Also, the handle of light colored jade, and the finial a dark green stone. The handle with dragon head. Lovely shape and decorative. In excellent condition with no damages or repairs.
