Genuine antique necklace, 2 strands of quality coral beads and 2 of fine seed pearls. Twisted strand necklace dating to the late 19th century with a gold clasp stamped 14k. Pearls have fine luster and coral is of gem qulaity and a soft shade of coral. The size of the pearls and coral are very small, maybe 2 mm. Very dainty and refined. Necklaces of this caliber are sometimes seen on fine antique portrait paintings of aristocrats. Measure 15" long. May need restringing but can be worn as is. ...click for details

Fred Ladwig of Rochester New York, had an interesting career as an artist, working in different media: photography, collage, and paint. Born 1913, died 1995 at the age of 82, he was a good friend of the founder of the Memorial Art Gallery, James Sibley Watson. Fred was known for his talent, intellect, and unique ideas.
