Featuring a very rare early English sterling silver sealing wax jack. Hallmarked on handle, foot, snuffer and on top piece. The hall marks are hard to decipher, but there are lions, a C in a shield that looks like the Newcastle C for 1769, and there is the castle for Newcastle. There are makers marks of GN over HH in a shield. It is very hard for me to determine the age of this piece, but it is very nice and may be this early. Featuring a wonderful Japanese carving of a farmer carrying a basket of fall gourds and vegetables on his shoulder, and holding a bunch of grapes in his hand with a bug on a leaf. At his feet is a frog peeking out from a leaf, and a sack with some rice cakes in it. The underside of the base is signed with an inlaid red lacquer signature. Also, there is a leaf design which hides a nerve flaw in the elelphant ivory. This was commonly done on Japanese ivory carvings. The man is leaning to one side ...click for details

Genuine antique necklace, 2 strands of quality coral beads and 2 of fine seed pearls. Twisted strand necklace dating to the late 19th century with a gold clasp stamped 14k. Pearls have fine luster and coral is of gem qulaity and a soft shade of coral. The size of the pearls and coral are very small, maybe 2 mm. Very dainty and refined.
