A miniature watercolor painting on ivory of beautifu young woman. Details in eyes and hair especially nice. Artist signed, Elsa Seippel, and dated 1922. Probably American or English. Measures 2 1/4" high x 1 3/4"+ wide. In excellent condition with gold mat and good vintage gold frame with ring at top for hanging. A handsome, aristocratic gentleman, probably American, very finely executed, watercolor painting on ivory, dating to the early 20th century. This man has an exceptionally gentle, kind look in his face, eyes and expression. The well coiffed beard and mustache details are so well painted, as is the entire piece. He is wearing a dress suit, vest, and tie with a stick pin. There is a signature and date in the lower left hand corner that looks like it could be N E Cummings 1920. Dating from the turn of the 20th century, this artistically rendered miniature painting on ivory of a beautiful young woman measures 4 1/2"x 3" including the exquisite filigree ormolu frame which stands, or can hang. Without the frame, the painting measures 3" x 2 1/4". The painting, probably American, is very artistic, but there are some light lines in her hair on her left side(viewers right side) which may not have been intentional or part of the original appearance.
