Chinese Ivory Carving Emperor and Empress 9"

Featuring a superb pair of Chinese ivory carvings of a Chinese emperor and empress. Very fine workmanship in their faces, detailing in their robes, and all aspects. The elaborate peacock designs in the empress's robe are amazing! Her facial features are beautiful as is her hairdo. Her fingernails are beautifully carved! She is holding a scepter in one hand, and the cord to the scepter in her other. The emperor is holding a sword in his right hand, and touching his beard with the other. The detailing in the emperor's robe is also amazing, with a dragon and other motifs. Another interesting feature is the green jade color stone set at her neck, and the red the red stone set in the emperor's hat. Very intricate detail. The figures measure over 9" tall with the stands, and without, about 8". They are glued to the stands. Excellent condition. Very minor flaw, there may be a tiny piece missing from the center of the emperor's hat. No other damages, or restorations. Please feel free to ask for more photos. Return privilege providing item returned in sent condition, within 3 days of receipt, and the way it was packed. Sales tax charged if sold in New York state, unless valid resale number and form provided.
