| Featuring a fine Japanese black lacquer box with 3 gold and silver medallions with geese flying over grasses, another with kiku (cherry blossoms), floating on water, and the last with chidori flying over waves. Three typical, beautiful motifs in Japanese design! The box dates circa 1900. The patriotic orange and white ribbon, the colors of the Japanese flag, slides through a false bottom, an unusual feature. Not sure for what this box was used. Measuring 7.25" long x 5.25" wide x 3/4" high, the box is in excellent condition. Minor lines on one corner and tiny dent on underside edge. These minor flaws are not noticeable. See photos. No other damages, restorations. Fresh from local estate. Return privilege, providing item returned as sent, within 3 days of receipt, and the way it was packed. Sales tax charged if sold in New York state unless valid sales tax number provided, and signed NY state form. | ||
