A very nice moulded Wanli period (A.D.1573-1619) blue and white kraak porcelain dish. It stands on a very short footrim with a recess base and then everted upward into a U-shaped moulded dish. In the centre of the dish, it depicts a pair of deer under a tree with flowering foilage and rocks. On the cavetto, it is painted with a two tiered brush stroke. Such almost identical dish is illustrated in Maura Rinaldi, Kraak Porcelain, London, 1989. ...click for details

Around the concave neck there are round moulded spots all around it. The jar is glazed on the inside and the mouth rim and stop short just at the shoulder of the gobular body with qingpai glazed.
