Symbolism was a key element in Victorian jewelry and these 15kt earrings are no exception. The acorn's meaning was of wisdom and strength and earrings like this were quite rare. The leaves are textured and realistic; the acorn itself, with its pebbled top and smooth bottom is also quite lifelike. The acorn drop moves freely from the leaves; they are light weight and easy to wear. English. Circa 1880
