Rare and exceptional cabochon garnet pendant surrounded by 12 old mine cut diamonds of various weights ranging from approximately 0.23 carat to 0.25 carat. An additional diamond on the bale weighs approximately 0.33 carat. There are 12 very small diamonds around the perimeter of the larger diamonds weighing approximately 0.25 carat for a total diamond weight of 3.58 carats. A graceful and elegant lacy festoon necklace so typical of the turn of the century. This one is 15kt yellow gold, probably English in origin and contains brilliant green peridots and white seed pearls. Peridot is an ancient stone; so old that it can be found in Egyptian jewelry from the early 2nd millenium BC.
