Lika Behar was born in Istanbul and has lived in New York since the 1980s. The inspiration for her jewels is the contrast of the ancient and modern of country. Her original collection in 24k yellow gold showcases her passion for the ancient traditions of jewelry making as each piece is uniquely hand crafted. In recent years she began working with sterling silver accented with colored stones that are reminiscent of the blue waters that surround her birth country. These lovely drop earrings are handmade in sterling silver with a round blue topaz on the top and a rectangular white topaz drop. So light you will forget you are wearing them, yet so bright and flattering that everyone else will notice how beautiful they are!

Though I haven't carried 'new' jewelry very much, I couldn't resist buying some pieces from the renowned silver company, Thistle & Bee. Their signature is "clean, carefully crafted and uniquely sophisticated designs", timeless and classic - my signature as well. This beautiful and extremely wearable sterling silver link bracelet is part of their bamboo line and is just wonderful! The clasp is constructed with the detail of a much more expensive piece of jewelry; it is a fold-over link with a sturdy locking mechanism. I think you'll find that you will end up wearing this with everything.

An inspiration to the op art movement of the 1960s with nods to the founder of the movement, Victor Vasserly and the British artist Bridget Riley. As in op art, this fabulous bracelet emphasizes the form and design elements in pure black and white, where the negative spaces are of equal importance. Constructed of dyed agate, 18kt yellow gold and 0.30 carat of diamond, this is fun and reminiscent of the "Mod" styles of Carnaby Street in the 1960s and 1970s.
