Garnets were one of the most used stones in the mid-Victorian era. These earrings contain one (1) cabaochon garnet each accented by four (4) bright red rubies and one silvery pearl make up this exceptional pair of Vicotorian earrings. Scroll and leaf design make up the delicate frame of the central stones topped with the pearl and suspended from a stylized lyre symbolizing not only the classicism of the overall design but also associated with historical splendor and opulent living. Makes one wonder just who did own these earrings and wouldn't it be wonderful to become the next care taker of these beauties? Condition: Excellent Measurements: 1 1/2" long; 3/4" wide Gross Weight: 6.6 dwt; 10.3 grams Circa: 1860; English in origin |
