Shiko Munakata (1903 ~ 1975) "Chikudenkyo no Saku" from the famous 1971 Saikaido Series, for which Munakata expressly traveled and produced works. This has been called Munakata's most notable Yaskawa series. Date: 1971 (Verso also stamped 1971) Size: Approximately 15.0 x 11.75 inches Published by Munakata Studio using a lithographic technique. Issued in association with Yaskawa. Condition: Excellent. Unframed. Full margins. Light wrinkle at left margin. On very thin paper. Depicted is the garden at the birthplace of artist Tanomura Chikuden in the town of Takeda. Calligrapher Rai San'yo spent a night in the depicted building in 1817. |
