This porcelain plate is 8 inches in diameter. It has the family crest of the 3rd Earl of Portsmouth or John-Charles Wallop. Wallop was a very interesting character and I found him referenced in one publication as having the disposition of a vampyre.
The family crest has goats as supporters and has a mermaid with a crown over it. The motto En suivant la verite (By following the truth) is under the crest in a ribbon. The plate is trimmed in gold and has a crown at the top with initials under i ...click for details

This unique little piece is a tazza or footed cup of some sort. It is painted with floral decoration and some birds. There is a geometrical design painted in the bottom of the bowl that could be an armorial crest but more likely it is just decorative. The piece has a heavy use of gold over the outside of the piece. The piece is 1 ¾ inches high and 4 ¼ inches in diameter at the top. The diameter is 2 9/16 on the bottom. We date this to late Qing, circa 1860.
