This mortar and pestle is porcelain and has much of its original gilding on it. The bowl is 5 inches in diameter and 2 7/8 inches tall. It has very thick walls and is of a good quality. It is signed on the bottom Made in France and has a crown and N mark. We date this to the early 20th century.
There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There is wear to the gilding as can be seen in the pictures.
This clock is 26 ¼ inches long, 3 ½ inches deep and 9 ¾ inches high. The piece has metal deer mounted on each side. The cover of the clock is hinged and opens up. The clock has not been operated in some time. There is no damage to the piece. It is circa 1930.
This full size violin is 23.5 inches long and 8 ½ inches wide. The body is 14 inches long. The violin appears to be in good shape with everything original except one peg. All parts appear to be tight. There are a couple of tiny chips on the front. Inside the violin there is a label that reads “Made exclusively for First National Institute of Allied Arts of America. Made in Germany.” There is also a number 133. We would date this to circa 1930.
