This is a very large teak opium bed. It is elaborate with very detailed carving. It is peg construction. It has a top on it that can either be open with piercings or closed. There are many hand carved gilded panels around the bed. There is a shelf area on one side of it that has 2 larger cabinets and 2 smaller cabinets. This impressive pair of mirror image porcelain Japanese vases is 36 inches tall and 14 ¾ inches wide at the top and 9 inches wide at the footrim. The vases have a ruffled top. They have an iron red background and are well decorated all the way around with a samurai on horseback and several on foot. This large heavily potted porcelain charger is 15 ½ inches in diameter and 1 ¾ inches in height. It is hand decorated with the pattern of the hundred old men in over the glaze enamels and gold. The charger shows scholars engaged in various pursuits such as looking at a scroll and having tea. The scenes are separated by a bearded man with a large cap on or a bald head. It may be Shou. This pair of vases is well painted with a tree in the background and a pair of ducks in the foreground. Each is signed by Masatoro Keida, the premier potter from Kagoshima prefecture after the turn of the century. Some of his work is known to have been displayed at the International Exposition in St Louis in 1904. The vases are 6 ¼ inches tall and 3 ¼ inches in diameter at the largest point. This is a Chinese mark and period porcelain cup or bowl from the Guangxu period. It is 4 1/8 inches in diameter and 2 1/8 inches tall. There is a shou symbol in the bottom on the inside with 5 bats around it. The decoration is well executed and the mark is in underglaze blue. The rosewood stand will come with it. It is in excellent condition with no chip, cracks or repairs.

This is a Chinese painted bowl in a very unusual shape. It is painted turquoise and has hand painted flowers and butterflies on it. The quality of the painting is excellent. The bowl is 8 inches long, 5 ½ inches across and 2 ½ inches tall. It has a hand-painted Jiaqing mark in red but we believe it is Quangxu period or early republic. This is for a pair of 19th century Imari chargers that are each 15 ½ inches in diameter. These date to the Meiji period, probably in the 1880 range. They are well decorated and have birds drawn in each area on the side. They have a heavy duty hanger mounted on each charger which allows them to hang on the wall. They are in excellent condition with no damage.

This impressive lantern is a fine demonstration of the quality metalwork that the Japanese did during the Meiji period. The detail is just exquisite with birds and dragons portrayed. The lantern breaks down into 4 pieces and snaps together in a turn lock fashion. The top piece is the canister for the kerosene. Circa 1890. It is 65 inches tall. There is no damage.

This is a beautiful midnight blue cloisonne vase with irises and a ruby throated swallow. It is 7 1/4 inches tall. The vase is unmarked but we believe it may be Hayashi Kodenji or Namikawa Yasuyuki. We believe it dates circa 1900. It is in very good condition. It has one tiny area of enamel loss on the back of an eighth of an inch.It also has a couple of very tiny dents on the top.
