This light is 24 inches tall and in the shape of a pagoda. It is porcelain and we believe it dates to the early 20th century. It is operational, though the wiring is old and probably from the 1930’s. The lantern is porcelain and it is hand painted with dragons on it. The lamp has lots of detail and is pierced in places to allow the light to be seen better when it is lit. The top lifts off and a small light bulb goes in there. We believe this is Chinese though it may be Japanese.

This is one fantastic pair of Kutani vases. They are from the Meiji period and have the familiar iron red or orangish color. They are hand painted with several types of design. There are differing scenes of birds painted on each lamp. In our opinion the painting is very well executed. The vases are 14 inches tall and 8 inches across at the widest point. These were previously lamps and have holes in the bottoms. They are both signed and say Kutani and we believe the artist or shop is Sanmei thoug ...click for details

This is for a pair of Japanese black cloisonne vases. They have a bird and floral decoration with very vibrant colors. They are 7 ½ inches tall. They are unsigned. I believe these are from the mid 20th century. There is some damage to each vase but it can not be seen from the front. One vase has an area of 1 ½ X 1 ½ that the enamel is damaged though it does not go all the way through. The other vase has a bruise of 1 X ¾ that does not go all the way through.

This is for a set of fine spinach jade foo dogs or lions. They are 4 1/2 inches tall and 5 ½ inches tall when they are on their stands. They are well carved from beautiful pieces of spinach green jade and have various color inclusions. The feet, which is the thinnest part on the pieces are translucent when held to the light. We do not know the age of these items, though we have been advised by a dealer that specializes in jade that they date from around 1800. They came from a South Florida est ...click for details
