This is a bronze Japanese basket that would have been hand woven. It was hand woven in straps of metal and has a bronze handle applied to it. The basket is made in such a way to look like it is made of bamboo. The basket is 7 3/4 inches tall excluding the handle and 4 inches across.
We are uncertain of the age but it does have a nice patina to it. This came from a high end New York estate with many high quality oriental antiques. There is no damage other than some of the bronze wires are b ...click for details

This wonderful piece was converted to a lamp long ago. It is a bottle neck vase with a deep aubergine glaze and a turquoise qilong. The lamp is 30 inches tall to the top of the harp. It has been rewired for use. We are estimating it was mounted for use as a lamp in the early 1900’s based on the hardware used and the patina. The vase itself is 12 inches tall. The bottom was totally removed when the vase was converted into a lamp. It has been rewired and is ready for use. It is in very good cond ...click for details
