A RARE piece of Loetz "Marmoriertes" ONYX GLASS VASE, displaying the marbelized colors of brown, deep red, and green. The interior layer is an attractive, and very pale blue opaque glass; quatrefoil foliate rim edged in gilt; the foot and neck of the vase have been acid-etched in a very small raised whorling finish, and overlay with raised white enameling, lushly accented with gilt, and formed in a lambrekin and scrolling floral pattern, a definitive Far Eastern motif. Height is about 11", largest diameter about 6-1/4", base diameter 3-1/2", and 2-3/8" x 2-1/4" rim. It has wear from use and age, including wear to the base, minor gilt losses. It also has a few surface and open bubbles, anomalies inherent to blown glass which is usual and normal, and affects neither the appearance, nor value. A fine and rare work of art for the collector.
