This pair of sleeve bands is made of black cotton satin weave fabric with very delicately stitched floral motif embroidery. Each panel measures 6" x 26" with embroidered area measuring 3" x 9"
This is a traditional Han hat for a small child made during the late Qing Dynasty. The hat made from black silk background fabric with various parts outlined with silk ribbon, black short fringe and/or silk cording. The small embroidered flowers are satin stitched and couched with silk thread. The top of the hat has a large lotus blossom appliqued onto it.
This antique Chinese silk dragon court vest is couched with silk thread embroidery designs of dragons, birds, flowers, clouds etc. and accents of gold bouillion thread. Vest shows some minimal wear and is in overall good condition.

This charming pair of lotus shoes are from northern China and date to the late Qing Dynasty. The delicately embroidered flower goes across the toe of each shoe and the wide ornate woven band forms a cuff around the top of each shoe.
A properly dressed Chinese woman would wear a pair of leggings that would cover her foot bindings from her lower leg to the top of her lotus shoes. The leggings would be tied into place with a hand woven sash made specifically for that purpose. These lotus shoe accessories are now rare and very hard to find.

By the early 1900's, foot binding fell somewhat out of fashion with the upper social classes of Han Chinese women, especially in the north. With various degrees of success and a lot of pain, a few brave women chose to have their feet re-broken and reset into a more natural size and shape. This pair of boots belonged to one such woman.

This charming old Chinese headband was handmade for a small child sometime in the late Qing dynasty. It is one of the nicest animal headbands that I have seen, and it is in good condition. The cat's face would have been worn at the child's forehead and is 3 dimensional. Made with silk fabric, with silk thread for the elaborately embroidery, the face is complete with ears that flap, and side paws. Opened at the back seam for easy framing, it can easily be re-sewn to fit display stand.

This baby carrier is a lovely old piece. Embroidered with a very intricate flowing pattern using silk floss and wrapped thread technique. This piece is bordered with hand-loomed fabric. The back of the piece has recently been replaced. Condition is good 19" x 21.5
This is a charming child's hat with lots of embroidered symbols. At the front are 7 silver Buddhas to guide the child. The phoenix birds at the back of the hat indicate that the hat is for a girl child and the silver bells at the back are to protect the child from evil spirits. The butterfly on the sides of the hat represent the "butterfly mother" of the Miao people. And, of course, the flowers, because the Miao people love flowers. The hat is in very good condition.
