Large Aesthetic Polychrome INDUS Fruit Bowl, 1885. This had to find INDUS Fruit Bowl or Serving Bowl, measures 4-1/8" tall and 11-5/8" across the handles. The INDUS pattern was first introduced by Ridgway in 1877. The design is an exotic Oriental scene with birds and bamboo, as well as distant pagodas - all showing Chinese and Japanese influences. The stylized flowers are hand painted in shades of pink and rose, with beige brown leaves, and some marine blue flowers. This vase is probably early 1930s, based on the printed La Louvriere mark. SARREGUEMINES STUIO POTTERY VASE W. PINK GLAZING. The vase appears if it was partially built by hand as the hand - torn and pinched clay at the opening provide very interesting details.
