The bowl is in the shape of an open textured Walnut and rests on tree limbs for legs with detailed leaves and assorted walnuts. The design reflects the Victorian love of nature as well as similar designs depicted in Japanese bronzes. The branch curls up to form a handle with leaves attached. The pattern, PRIMROSE, was introduced BY W.T. Copeland in 1881. The Aesthetic Movement design has a black printed transfer of a stylized central exotic flower radiating in arches like a pinwheel star from the center and decorated with Acanthus leaves all around the edge.
