During the early 20th Century, Doulton increased the number of artisans and artists who created new designs, many of them geometrical, but still based on flora and foliage, as well as some Persian influences. The colors tend to be intense and the color combinations have an edge to them.
ROYAL COPENHAGEN FAIENCE / FAJANCE - HUGE FRUIT BOWL
This large Royal Copenhagen Conical Faience Bowl with nut and berry motifs was probably made in the 1940s in Denmark. (The dessert plates have been sold!)
The main coloring is a light rust brown color with a circular design of nuts and leaves in the center of the bowl. The shapes were very modern at the time, and are almost rimless discs of color with different nut and berry designs in their centers. The bowl is very good condition. ...click for details
