RARE TILE OF A HAND PAINTED STORK, designed by Pierre Mallet For a long time, I tried to find the designer and/or maker of this tile, and finally came across clues on P.95 of Maureen Batkin's book, Wedgwood Ceramics 1846-1959, where one plate has the same long legged stork with both wings raised like a cloak. This large Royal Copenhagen Conical Faience Bowl with nut and berry motifs was probably made in the 1940s in Denmark. (The dessert plates have been sold!)
The main coloring is a light rust brown color with a circular design of nuts and leaves in the center of the bowl.
