Stunning American Aesthetic Gesso Frame, c.1880, in superb condition with silver triangular corner finials and gold borders with grape and vine motifs. The moulded silver and gold gesso is mostly original, for minor invisible restorations. The burgundy velvet liner was tastefully replaced, as was the beveled mirror. The inner sight dimensions are 8 x 10", The outer dimensions are 15 x 17 "

JAPANESQUE AESTHETIC Wm. BROWNFIELD JUG w. Flying cranes, YEDDO Jug 1876 This slightly flattened oval shaped Japanese inspired jug is decorated with cranes on a stippled background. The jug shape is known as YEDDO. The form is white clay but the stippled portion is bright blue with white applied slip cranes and clouds.
