AESTHETIC MOULDED GESSO FRAME WITH SQUARE CORNER FINIALS AND LOW RELIEF MOULDED FERN LIKE LEAVES
This is a stunning and unusual American moulded gesso frame from the 1880s. Probably just preceding the Adirondack period, as I think the leaves and seed pods are a native American plant. The frame is in excellent condition. The finish is an old gold color, which was probably replaced in its lifetime. The beveled mirror is original and is not a replacement.
