| AESTHETIC ENGLISH TRANSFER BOTANICAL TILE OF CLIMBING ROSES set in a geometric border of triangles, but extending into the border. The transfer is brown on white clay, but coloring includes white roses, various shades of green on the leaves, against a black background, which makes the image of the roses more dramatic. The grid of the tile back suggests the tile was made by the manufacturer T G & F Booth The tile is in very good condition, with some tiny edge nibbles. It was probably used within a fireplace setting, so there are some dark patches on the back. c. 1880s | ||
