| Gonzalo Moreno, Sterling Silver Onyx Stone, Lozenge Shaped Link Bracelet . Excellent vintage condition, light scratches. There are three rows of oval lozenges, five in each row, but alternating rather than identical rows. The outer rows of lozenges encase oval onyx cabochons. The middle row is entirely silver. The bracelet design appears seamless because of the unique, hidden clasp. You can see the lozenge with the post which accepts the “hook” from the adjoining lozenge, hiding the linkage. Each link has similar posts joining the links vertically. It measures approx. 7 1/2 inches around the wrist and the width is 1 1/8th inches, the cabochon set stones are 5/16ths of an inch thick in their sterling encasements. The safety chain is 2 1/2 inches. Many artisans have copied this Antonio Pineda design. Fully hallmarked piece, stamped with the old Eagle stamp with an enclosed 11 above 0.925 , as well as the G Moreno reading across a circle of Sterling Mexico. Bille Hougart book regarding Mexican hallmarks, states that some of Moreno's production was sold by Cartier the Jewelers. | ||
