FarFan MEXICAN SILVER ART DECO BRACELET
FarFan MEXICAN SILVER ART DECO BRACELET Made in Mexico City, Mexico, before 1948. FarFan was Mexico's leading silver and gold jewelry maker at that time. Taxco design with art deco flair. It consists of four convex silver links. Each link has 3 graduated silver balls placed in the center channel of the link. . The clasp is a tongue and box closure that works perfectly. Size: the inside circumference when closed is 7-1/2", width is 1-1/4", and the weight is 44 grams. Superior condition. Hallmarks include: "HECHO EN MEXICO, DF, FARFAN, 925" on the box portion of the clasp and ""STERLING, 925" on the tongue portion of the clasp. FarFan and this identical hallmark (photo P-90) It appears in Bille Hougart's book, Page 151, The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks (2006 edition) Mr. Hougart indicates that FarFan used the Eagle assay marks 1 and 13 ~ this piece does not have an Eagle assay mark so it was most likely made prior to 1948.
