MERIDEN Aesthetic Japanesque Silverplate teapot
MERIDEN Aesthetic Silverplate Angular silverplate teapot, diam. 6.5", with rolled die band of flowers and birds and "Bamboo" wrapped handle. The Japanese influences are evident in the "bamboo" wrapped handle, as well as the angular sides, as might have appeared on an iron kettle in Japan. The rolled die cast floral bands has a lush design of flowers, birds and even spider webs. This American silverplate teapot took its inspiration from a Royal Worcester teapot, which had the same angular barrel shape teapot body, as well as the faux "bamboo" wrapped handle. It is in excellent condition. (It needs a light polishing, but the silverplate is completely intact.) 40011.yoi. $250
