AN ANCIENT EGYPTIAN STEATITE ISIS HORUS
Finely carved steatite seated Isis wearing a striated tripartite wig, her feet with defined toes emerging from her tightly fitted garment, her right arm bent at the elbow, her right hand offering her breast to the baby Horus and her left hand supporting Horus' head. Horus sporting a thick elaborate sidelock, defined breasts and pudgey belly. Socket carved in the top of her head to hold her now missing crown. Late Period, 600-300 B.C. 4 inches high. Minor losses on back. Minor repair on bottom right. Ex. Israeli collection.
