| 28” curved broad fullered s.e. blade with etched, blued and gilt decoration of foliage and trophies of arms to first near half. Etching crisp. Blue fading but bright in places. Gilt bright at forte and weaker toward the point. Brass hilt with stirrup form guard and fully modeled eagle head pommel. Reeded bone grip with a few age checks and small chips as expected. Hilt very sound with mellow patina and few very minor blemishes. Good early broad bladed example, probably for a cavalry officer. | ||
