The white art glass base of this uniquely shaped Quezal Shade has highlights which are a rainbow of colors. To create a ribbed effect, there are subtle lines of a slightly deeper iridescent tone in the glass. The applied gold zipper design of the 4.5" shade is in pristine condition as is the entire shade. Only Frederick Carder of Steuben could have designed a rare and unique art glass shade. This is a lovely and sought after brown iridescent Steuben Shade. It is 5" high and has a beautiful Intarsia iridescent design in brown, green and silver. The more intricate Steuben logo is on the rim. The rim for the fitter is 2.25". Martin Bach and his Quezal Company at its finest is this stunning blue hook over white (or a very light cream) calcite with a swirled base. It is in excellent condition with the properly engraved signature "Quezal" in script on the rim. Its height is 5.25"; The flare base is approximately 5.35 inches with a standard 2 1/8" fitter.
A Bell shaped, 9 ribbed Quezal art glass shade with a flaring base; a stunning gold aurene iridescent body with white pulled feathers, bordered in bright green. The overall effect is lovely and quite unusual. The interior is also gold iridescence. "Quezal" is engraved in black on the interior of the rim. Neither Tiffany, nor Steuben could have produced as lovely a shade as this Quezal 5.5 inch, gold pulled feather, tipped in bright green, over a Opalescent base, circa 1920's. The interior is gold iridescence. The fitter is the standard 2 1/4". The slight carbon markings around the fitter rim may be easily removed with a mild soap solution. The shade is in excellent condition, and as can be seen the colors are gorgeous.
These Steuben Art Glass Shades are Calcite with a lovely butterscotch or goldenrod yellow hooked feather and a gold iridescent interior. They are 6" high with a 2 1/4" fitter. There is a slight black mark around the fitter edge of one of them which we believe can be removed easily. Otherwise, they are in mint condition, with not a scratch or flea bite to mar their perfection. Circa 1920's
Martin Bach, Jr., the chief designer of Quezal Glassworks, was not known for his floriforms and his Sweet Pea miniature vases. This 6.5" high pulled green leaves over white with the special decorated foot in green and gold proves Quezal more than capable of producing beauty. Martin Bach, the Founder of Quezal Glass, was the first to produce the Snakeskin design of this 5 inch high art glass shade, which were later copied by the Lustre Art Glass Company. Both Quezal and Lustre Art Glass made variations, which we have in the gallery and in our inventory. The shade has a stunning iridescent, crimped rim and a 2 1/4" fitter. These are five Quezal (signed) shades which are criss crossed in gold iridescent over white calcite with a intricate double gold hooked feather decoration. I have never seen shades like this, particularly in this excellent condition with no scratches or chips. All five match; are signed "Quezal"; have the standard 2 1/4" fitter and are bell shaped with an opening of 4 1/4" and a height of just over 4 1/2".
Tiffany, as well as Steuben, produced art glass shades similar in style and color to this Quezal 5 inch high White Calcite, ribbed shade. The shade has a gold iridescent interior. The rim for the fitter is the standard 2 1/4". "Quezal" is engraved in script on the inside of the rim for the fitter. The shade is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
