Original Japanese woodblock print Taiso Yoshitoshi (1797-1858), titled “7 PM: Preparing for New Year's Party”, 1880. This design is plate 19 in the series Twenty-four Hours at Shinbashi and Yanagibashi, which was published by Morimoto Junsaburo and carved by Hori Yata, and Horiko Enkatsu.

The image measures approximately 13 1/4 by 9 inches. The colors are very fresh, as the print comes from an album, and there are black lacquer highlights. There is minor soiling on the front and reverse.

This is one of the top designs of the series, as well as one of Hiroshige’s most sought after designs among all his work.

The image measures approximately 9 x 13 3/4 inches. The print is in good condition, although there is a faint centerfold, a light backing, and minor rubbing and soiling on the front and reverse.

Original pencil signed woodblock print by Toshi Yoshida (1911-1995), When, 80/150, 1972. This print has a wonderful provenance – we acquired it directly from the Yoshida Family Collection. Please be sure to use the zoom image feature, linked to the enlargement page, to fully appreciate the intricate printing technique.

The image measures approximately 22 ¼ by 15 1/4 inches, plus full margins. The print is in very good condition, with no problems to note.
