Pencil signed Japanese woodblock print by Hiroshi Yoshida (1886-1960), titled A Spring Day, 1927. This print is illustrated at pl. 89 of The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi, Ogura, Tadao et. al., Abe Publishing Co., Ltd., (Tokyo, 1987). It has a red jizuir seal in the left margin, evidencing that Yoshida himself approved of the quality of the print. It also has both a brush signature in the image and a pencil signature in the lower right margin.
This print is has very good color and condition, although there is a pinholes (or thumbtack) in the top and bottom corners on the left edge of the paper, and some soiling and creasing in the margins. The image measures approximately 9 ¾ by 114 ¾ inches, plus margins.

Pencil signed Japanese woodblock print by Hiroshi Yoshida (1886-1960), titled Snake Charmers, 1932, from the increasingly popular India and Southeast Asia Series. This print is illustrated at pl. 171 of The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi, Ogura, Tadao et. al., Abe Publishing Co., Ltd., (Tokyo, 1987). It has a jizuir seal in the left margin, evidencing that Yoshida himself approved of the quality of the print. It also has both a brush signature in the image and a pencil signature in the lower right margin.
This print is has very good color and condition, although is some soiling and minor rubbing in the margins and residue/minor thinning from a prior mount on the top reverse corners. The image measures approximately 9 ¾ by 114 ¾ inches, plus margins.

Yodogimi, 1926. This print is illustrated at pl. 26 of Natori Shunsen Catalogue Raisonne, Kushigata Municipal Shunsen Museum,
1991.
This print is has wonderfully fresh colors and is in very good condition, with nice baren work, and lacquer and mica highlights. There are
some pinholes in the top margin, faint toning in the margins and reverse and two printing creases in the top margin. The image measures approximately 14 ¾ by 10 inches, plus margins.

First edition Japanese woodblock print by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957), titled Zozoji Temple in the
Snow, from the series Twenty Scenes of Tokyo, 1925. Arguably Hasui's most popular design, it is illustrated at plate 147 of Kawase
Hasui Mokuhangashu (Kawase Hasui Catalogue of Woodblock Prints), Narazaki, Muneshige, ed., (Tokyo: Kodansha & Mainichi

This print is has wonderfully fresh colors and is in very good condition, aside from some faint toning on the reverse and residue/thinning from a prior mount in top reverse margin. The image

First edition Japanese woodblock print by Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949), titled Zozoji Temple in Snow,
1933. The seals in the left margin indicate that the print was published by Doi Hangaten, carved by Harada and printed by Yokoi. Since
Yokoi worked for Doi until approximately 1945, this print was clearly made during Koitsu's lifetime

Original Japanese print by Keisuke Serizawa (1895-1984), titled depicting a village scene. Serizawa is the recognized master of Japanese stencil prints; a medium also used by Sadao Watanabe and Yoshitoshi Mori. His works are prized by both woodblock print collectors and fans of mingei (folk art). This print comes with a separate ceriticate that translates as follows:

Original signed Japanese woodblock print by Jun'ichiro Sekino (1914-1988), 14/120. This
design in neither titled, date nor illustrated in the seminal reference book for the artist, Jun'ichiro Sekino: The
Prints, Sekino, Katsuko (ed.), 1994. Sekino is one of the leading artists of the sosaku hanga school, and was a
pupil of Koshiro Onchi.
This print is in very condition, with strong colors. There is light creasing in right margin and tape residue on top and
bottom margins. The artist's name is blind stamped in the bottom margin. The image measures approximately 21 ? by 18 inches, plus margins.

Original signed Japanese woodblock print by Jun'ichiro Sekino (1914-1988), titled Flowers
and New York, 5/100, 1960. This design is illustrated at plate 260 of Jun'ichiro Sekino: The Prints, Sekino,
Katsuko (ed.), 1994. Sekino is one of the leading artists of the sosaku hanga school, and was a pupil of Koshiro
Onchi. This print depicts the Manhattan skyline of the late 1950's, seen from across the river and through a field of
sunflowers.
This print is in very good condition, with strong colors. There are handling creases as a result of the size of the print, a ¼ inch tear in center of bottom margin, repaired
from the reverse, and adhesive tape residue on reverse. The image measures approximately 22 ¼ by 33 ¼ inches, plus margins.

Wonderful Paul
Jacoulet woodblock. It is titled Le Genie
sans Noms. Coree (The Unkown
Genius. Korea), published January 15,
1953. It is pencil signed and bears the
Peony seal on the front and an elaborate PJ seal on the reverse. This design is illustrated at plate
127 of Miles, Richard, The Prints of Paul Jacoulet, 1982. The image measures approximately
15 ½ by 11 ¾ inches, plus full margins. What appears to be a nick in the bottom margin on the
right was actually done intentionally at the time of printing to assist in the alignment of the wood
blocks, and is indicative of untrimmed margins.
This print is in excellent condition and the colors are very fresh and intense. It came from a
collection that had never been matted or framed!
