Original Japanese woodblock print by Shima Seien (1892-1970), titled "The Heroine Yujiri, in 'Yugiri Awa no Naruto'", 1923. This print is one of 18 designs published as supplements to "The Complete Works of Chikamatsu", which consisted of 16 volumes, plus two additional images. This print measures approximately 15 1/8 x 10 7/8 inches inches, plus full margins. It is in wonderful condition, aside from some light toning. There is embossing in the head.
