Original Japanese woodblock print by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) titled "Tsuchisaki in Akita District", 1928, from the Souvenirs of Travel, 3rd Series. This is a pre-war printing, as indicated by the Watanabe Color Print Co. publisher's cartouche in the right margin. This design is illustrated at plate 138 in "Kawase Hasui Mokuhanga-shu" (commonly known as the Narazaki Catalogue)and plate 136 in the new Hasui Catalogue, by Kendall Brown. The image measures approximately 14 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches inches, plus margins. The colors are wonderfully fresh, and there are no condition issues to note.
