Japanese woodblock print by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950), titled Seta Bridge, from the Kansai District series, 1933. It has both a brush signature in the image, and a pencil signature in the bottom margin. There is also a jizuri seal in the upper left margin, denoting that Yoshida had approved of the quality of the print. This design is illustrated at plate 182 of Ogura, Tadao et. al., The Complete Woodblock Prints of Yoshida Hiroshi, Abe Publishing Co., Ltd., (Tokyo, 1987). This print is in excellent condition, with extremely vivid colors, although there is thinning at the reverse top corners. The image measures approximately 9 1/2 by 14 5/8 inches, plus full margins. |
