Beautiful Joichi Hoshi Woodblock - Evening Tree (Red)

Original pencil signed woodblock print by Joichi Hoshi (1913-1979), titled Evening Tree (Red), 1972. This design is illustrated at plate 267 of “Joichi Hoshi, Catalogue of All Tree Woodblock Prints”, Kato, Tatsuo, Hoshino, Kumeji, Tokyo, 1988.

The image measures approximately 7 1/4 x 4 7/8 inches, plus margins. The background is printed with gold metallic pigments. The print is in very good condition, aside from some faint rubbing on the reverse.
