First State Yoshitoshi Woodblock - Frozen - 32 Beauties
Original Japanese woodblock print by Taiso Yoshitoshi (1839-1892) titled Frozen: The Appearance of a Fukagawa Nakamachi Geisha of the Tempo Era, from the series, Thirty-two Aspects of Daily Life, 1888. This is a first edition printing, with a three color title cartouche. It is illustrated at plate 11 of “Yoshitoshi's Women: The Woodblock-Print Series Fuzoku sanjuniso”, 1995 by John Stevenson.

This print is in very good condition, with no condition issues to note, aside from some faint toning at the left margin, five pinholes in the left margin, and 1 pinhole in bottom margin. The image measures 14 1/8 by 9 5/8 inches, plus margins.
