A large Imari porcelain charger rendered with cranes among bamboo and
in mid-flight; a delicate floral border framing the image. The scene
is painted in subtle shades of underglaze blue, green, red, white and
brown enamels with gilt detailing on a pristine white-glazed
ground.The Fukagawa blue Koransha and signature on reverse. This
superb Fukagawa charger is in excellent condition with no chips,
cracks or restoration.

A covered, round wood zushi executed with multi -colored lacquers on a
rich red-lacquered ground, its lid with lotus petals in silver and gold
hiramaki-e. The interior reveals Amida Buddha seated on a lotus
throne carved in high relief with colored lacquers, the inside cover
with
lotus flowers and leaves swirling beside a meandering stream. This unusual
traveling shrine is in very good condition and includes its original
floral-
printed silk pouch.

An enchanting studio pottery piece modeled as a phoenix boat in the style of Ninsei. The fanciful bird is embellished with floral sprays, stylized feather-patterns and writhing dragon cartouches in gosu, iron red and green enamels with luxurious gilt detailing. This rare pottery piece is in excellent condition. Makuzu Kozan signature seal
is found on the base.
