A marvelously-woven bamboo pendant basket formed as a cicada. Woven in a variety of intricate techniques, its body, wings and legs naturalistically designed, this basket, complete with copper otoshi, can stand on a level surface or hang from the wall. This ingenious ikebana basket is in excellent condition with no breaks, loss or restoration. Includes linen cover and owner's wood box inscribed "Cicada basket" (semi-kago).

This is a tall bamboo basket for ikebana arrangement, its full body woven with tight bamboo rope on a reed pedestal base. The combination of thick and twisted strands of bamboo rope with a dramatic gnarled
root wood handle creates a wondrous tactile effect. Insect stitching
and twining details can be found along the base. This basket is in excellent condition.

A rare-form bamboo ikebana basket on a round pedestal base, its forked
handle securely attached to the body, supportive wraps and insect
stitching along its sides. The basket is composed of superb detailing
- mat plaiting, twilling, interlocking v-knots and metallic
fittings. Contributing to the rarity of this basket is the beautifully
designed "fish-mouth" neck and fluid weaving in both horizontal and
vertical striping along its body.

Here is an example of Sozen-style ikebana basketry on a bamboo-
wrapped base, its forked handle made of bamboo stalk with looped supports.
The rounded basket's pleasing, curving body is worked with alternating
mat plaiting
and twining, its handle segmented by bands of cicada knots and insect stitches.
Chikuunsai I incised signature on the base; includes tomobako.
This basket is in very good condition.

A bold wagumi-style flower-form basket made of smoked bamboo with arrow tail inserts to create a herringbone weave. Double-walled interior basket exhibits a twined plaiting outside and twill plaiting inside. This ikebana basket is expertly crafted, in excellent condition and signed by the bamboo artist Yoshi Mine. Includes the original copper-lined otoshi.
