Here is an exquisite Satsuma censer with domed, silver reticulated lid. Three wonderfully detailed cartouches float upon a rich Mohammedan-blue ground surrounded by floating, lacy gilt phoenix. On one panel an artist is shown in his studio with his attendant and implements painting a large phoenix upon a paneled screen, bijin observing. A charming, small Satsuma sake cup rendered in rich enameled colors. Its exterior depicts continuous imagery of a lakeside village scene with huts, pine and dramatic waterfalls. Within, an amusing party of macaques in black, brown and white coats are engaged in social activities - grooming, wrestling and eating. Minute detailing and whimsicality characterize this fabulous sake cup. Very good condition, with only minor wear to the gilt along the rim. Artist gilt signature plaque on base.

A rectangular Satsuma tray designed with canted corners and exquisite kiku border. A superb, three-legged Satsuma censer of globular form decorated with delicate floral vignettes and brocades, the finial on its lid sculpted as three kiku. A marvelous Satsuma high-shouldered vase of slim form dramatically tapered by the Master. The main panel illustrates the Hina Matsuri - children and participants surrounding an elaborate doll display prepared for the joyous festivities. Iris in delicate hues rise from the foot, while a collar of kiku in gilt and colors embraces the shoulder. Yabu Meizan gilt signature cartouche on base. A Satsuma earthenware vase of trumpet-form decorated with intricate gold brocading along the flared lip and foot. A cockerel family rummaging along
the river bank is surrounded by nature's beauties - fields of bamboo and wild
kiku naturalistically rendered.
This lovely Satsuma vase is a collaboration between Kinkozan and Fuzan,
gilt cartouche and impressed seal on the base. Its condition is excellent with neither restoration nor damage.
