A fine Satsuma tea caddy of cylindrical form on pedestal base. Its lid features gilt Tokugawa mon and includes the rare to find inner lid. Along the neck and shoulders, fan-shaped cartouches are detailed in gosu blue and gilt with multiple stylized patterns, its open-fan motif continuing across the body with large fan cartouches on a scrolling gosu blue ground.
