This is a fully carved boxwood okimono of a hawk on its own stand, its head turned elegantly upward, the wings resting on each side. Finely carved details naturalistically render the bird's plumage, razor sharp claws and each feather along the neck. The expressive eyes are inlaid with aogai. A wood okimono of a standing Daruma, his bare feet parted and body slightly twisted as his robe whips about him. Daruma holds an ivory whisk in his left hand, the carving detailing his earrings, eyelids, and the serene expression capturing some moment during the beginning of his nine-year meditative state. Along his back is the carved signature of Megoro Sokyo. This okimono is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Height: 4 ¾" Meiji Period. Japan

The priest's robe is carved carefully as it eddies about his feet, the sleeves cascading from his broad shoulders in sweeping folds on each side. His features are well detailed and his gaze pensive. Here is a silver model of a seated Daikoku with his treasure sack. Known as the god of prosperity and one of the seven Lucky Household Gods, he holds his mallet while his beloved rat attribute perches next to his famous sack. (The rat in Japanese culture is associated with prosperity and usually depicted with barrels of rice, indicators of wealth.)
